FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – No. 17 Nova Southeastern completed a three-match week with a four-set victory over Eckerd in Sunshine State Conference play on Saturday evening. The Sharks improved to 12-0 at home on the 2021 season and have won 16 consecutive home matches at the Rick Case Arena, dating back to 2019.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Sharks trailed the Tritons 4-13 to open the SSC match-up.
 - Nova Southeastern’s rally in the first set fell short, as NSU fell 17-25 to begin the match.
 - The second-set started as a back-and-forth set, with both team sitting tied at 9-9.
 - NSU scored four consecutive points, taking a 13-11 lead over Eckerd, as Julia Bernardes capped the rally with a kill.
 - Emily O’Neil, Madison Cook and Elizabeth Price notched three straight points for the Sharks, extending the advantage to 17-14.
 - A service ace from Preslee Brooksbank gave NSU a 22-17 lead.
 - Alex Psoma tied the match 1-1 by sealing the second set win (25-22) with a service ace of her own.
 - Bernardes started a 6-1 run for NSU with a kill, which gave the Sharks a 9-5 lead over Eckerd.
 - Brittany Landrum added a point during the rally, as did Nyah Pacely with a service ace.
 - EC took an 11-9 lead over Nova Southeastern with a 6-0 rally of their own.
 - O’Neil tied the set at 11-11 with a kill for the Sharks.
 - NSU scored 5-of-6 points, taking a 19-14 advantage, later in the third set. Bernardes capped the run with another kill.
 - The Sharks took a 2-1 lead in the match with a 25-20 third set victory.
 - Nova Southeastern capitalized on three consecutive Triton errors to take a 4-0 lead to begin the fourth set.
 - O’Neil added back-to-back kills, as the Sharks were able to extend the advantage to 7-1.
 - Two consecutive service aces from Brooksbank gave NSU an 18-13 lead over Eckerd.
 - Nova Southeastern closed out their 20th win of the 2021 season with a 25-17 fourth set win over EC.
