HOW IT HAPPENED
- After trailing by a slim 3-1 margin early on, the Sharks grasped command of the opening set after a 3-0 spurt pushed their lead to 10-6.
- In front 13-10, NSU rattled off four answered points to stretch the cushion to 17-10, forcing Florida Tech to call timeout.
- Elizabeth Price would later tally one of her team-high six kills in set one to clinch the first set for the Sharks by a final score of 25-19.
- In set two, NSU earned its first lead at 11-10 following a combined block by both Price and Marianna Fiocco.
- That margin grew to its largest of the set at 24-19 thanks to two kills by Fiocco and one by Madison Cook, before NSU soon secured set two with a 25-20 win.
- The Sharks raced out to a 12-3 advantage to begin set three, picking up a combined three service aces, including a pair from Cook.
- Cook later registered another ace, capping an NSU 6-0 run to extend its lead out to 21-11.
- Florida Tech would survive seven straight match points, narrowing a 24-14 gap to 24-21. An attack error by the Panthers, though, would halt the spurt and hand the sweep to the Sharks.
