Four Sharks recognized with SSC Honors

MELBOURNE, Fla. – The Sunshine State Conference announced the 2025 women’s golf all-conference teams and special awards on Thursday afternoon. The eighth-ranked Nova Southeastern Women’s Golf team had four honorees, as Lua Pousa Dacasa earned first-team recognition, while Haruka Muta and Maria Torres-Lobato were named to the second-team, as well as Heather Wall being named the Coach of the Year for the second time (2018, 2025) in her career.  

Pousa Dacasa earns the first all-conference recognition of her career, following a break-out campaign as a sophomore. Pousa Dacasa is ranked as the 18th best golfer in NCAA Division II and holds a 72.4 scoring average. On the season, Pousa Dacasa has three top 10 individual finishes, including wining the Barry Invitational. The sophomore placed fourthat the Sunshine State Conference Championship and added a third-place finish at the Space Coast Collegiate Championship in March.  

Muta also adds the first all-Sunshine State Conference honor of her career, putting together a remarkable senior season. Muta is ranked as the 29th golfer in NCAA Division II, 17th in the South Region, and has three top 10 finishes this season and five top 15 finishes. Muta won the first individual title of her career at the Space Coast Collegiate Championship, finishing four-under. Muta holds a 73.3 scoring average on the 2024-25 season.  

Torres-Lobato joins Muta on the second team and was a consistent performer throughout the season for the Sharks. Torres-Lobato has earned four top five finishes on the 2024-25 season and has placed within the top five in three of the last four tournaments. Torres-Lobato holds a 73.4 scoring average on the season and is ranked 21st in the South Region.  

Wall earns Coach of the Year honors after guiding the Sharks to the program’s seventh SSC Championship, first since 2018, and three wins in NSU’s last four tournaments. Nova Southeastern also added victories at the Barry Invitational and the Space Coast Championship earlier this season.
