FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla- The Nova Southeastern men’s soccer team (7-6-2, 4-4-2 SSC) looks to make a deep playoff push, in Monday’s SSC Tournament quarterfinal matchup against the Lynn Fighting Knights (10-2-4, 4-2-4 SSC).

Kickoff is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. in Boca Raton, Fla.

NSU hit their stride during the second half of the season, winning four of their last six matches, leading them to securing the fifth seed in the tournament. Last season the Sharks took down Rollins in their quarterfinal matchup 1-0 before falling to Barry in the SSC Semifinals.

Alessandro Salvadego and Zyan Andrade spearheaded the Sharks late-season push, leading NSU with nine and six goals respectively. Salvadego has been on fire all season long, scoring a goal in eight of the 10 matches he has appeared in, placing him third in the conference in total goals scored. Andrade is also in the top 10 in the SSC in goals scored, and fifth in assists (4).

Luis Kiefer and Patrick O’Halloran have been the focal points for the fourth-seeded Fighting Knights. Both Knights enter Monday’s match with five and four goals respectively.

NSU has faced Lynn twice in the regular season, tying the first match at the NSU Soccer Stadium 2-2, and dropping the second matchup 2-1 from the Bobby Campell Stadium.

The winner of this go-around will advance to Thursday’s SSC Tournament semifinal at Barry University.
