#2 Sharks In Second Place at National Preview

WINTER GARDEN, Fla. – The second-ranked Nova Southeastern Men’s Golf team began their 2023 season on Monday, teeing off the National Preview at the Orange County National Country Club. The Sharks currently sit in second-place (-2), just one stroke off the lead, and Christian Munoz is pacing NSU, sitting in a tie for sixth-place at (-1).

In addition to No. 2 Nova Southeastern, the tournament field consists of Coker, Florida Southern, Saint Leo, Barry, Tampa, Palm Beach Atlantic, Lynn and Eckerd.
Results 

How it Happened
Christian Munoz began his day teeing off on the back-nine. Munoz recorded an eagle on the par-5, then played his best following the turn. He added a second eagle on the first hole, while also adding birdies on two, five and nine.  

George Mills (+1) currently sits tied for 10th place in the tournament, posting a solid pair of rounds. Mills recorded a pair of birdies in his first round and added four more in his second round of action. Mills tallied birdies on three-of-four holes on the back-nine and ended his round with three consecutive pars.  

Joseba Torres (+1) also sits tied for tenth place after two rounds. Torres totaled 11 birdies on the day, including six in his first round on the course.  

Mike Hay (+2) is tied for 18th place in the tournament. Hay shot an even-par through his first round, tallying three birdies. In his second round, Hay totaled another pair of birdies. 

Aidan Millham, in his first collegiate tournament, shot a bogey-free first round and recorded three birdies. Millham added two more birdies in his second round.  

Coach's Corner

Head Coach Joey Marino – The guys played great and put us in a good position heading into the final round. Hopefully we can finish strong tomorrow and have an opportunity to open the season with a win.
