#3 NSU Finish Day One in Rain-Soaked Tournament

Orlando, Fla. – The third-ranked Nova Southeastern Women’s Golf team began play at the Peggy Kirk Bell Invitational on Monday. NSU (+24) currently sits in seventh-place in the 13-team field. Monday’s action was cut short due to rain in the area, the Peggy Kirk Bell Invitational will now just be a 36-hole event, rather than the scheduled 54.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • After starting the day with a triple bogey, Ellen Andersson settled in and recorded a par on her next five holes before birding holes 12-14. Anderson ended the day at +3 and sits in a tie for seventh-place, three strokes off the lead.
  • Jimena Marques (+4) had a solid day on the course, recording four pars and a birdie on her first five holes. Marques is currently tied for 13th.
  • Haruka Mata (+8), Olivia Gronborg (+9), and Emma Larsen (+11) are all inside the top-50 after round one of competition.

UPCOMING
The second and final round of the Peggy Kirk Bell Classic will tee off on Tuesday, March 14.
