FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The Nova Southeastern Men’s and Women’s Swimming teams competed in a tri-meet against Florida International and Ave Maria on Saturday morning from the NSU Aquatics Center. The Sharks returned to their home pool for the first time this season.

HOW IT HAPPENED (MEN’S)
- Nova Southeastern began the day with a victory by Gus Pastos, Alessandro Xella, Kaden Mackey and Caleb Fell in the 200-yard Medley Relay. NSU also had relay teams place second and third in the event.
 - Santiago Espinoza took home the win in the 1000-yard freestyle, completing the race in 10:06.
 - Luca Alessandrini (1st/1:42.50), Fell (2nd/1:47.54) and Pastos (3rd/1:48.29) were the top finishers for NSU in the 200 freestyle.
 - Spencer Hohm recorded a win in the 100-backstroke for the Sharks.
 - Alessandrini added a victory in the 200-butterfly for NSU, finishing in 1:53.97.
 - Mackey added back-to-back wins in the 50/100-freestyle for Nova Southeastern.
 - Rafael Chambasian bested his teammate Fell in the 200-breaststroke, finishing in 2:13.
 - Steven Aimable finished in first place in the 100-butterly, winning in 50.83.
 - The team of Aimable, Robert Spekis, Chambasian, and Christian Vendetti earned a win in the 200-relay for NSU.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED (WOMEN’S)
- Estelle Bauer won the 1000-freestyle for Nova Southeastern, finishing in 10:28.
 - Solana Capalbo placed third for NSU in the 200-freestyle with a time of 1:56.86
 - Celina Marquez earned a victory for NSU, defeating a pair of Florida International racers, in the 100-backstroke, with a time of 55.29.
 - Aleksandra Maslova led the Sharks in the 200-butterfly, finishing second (2:04.66)
 - Marquez added a second win in the 200-backstroke, finishing nearly three-seconds ahead of the second-place finisher.
