NSU Men’s Hoops Enters Top-5 in New NABC Poll

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Head coach Jim Crutchfield and the Nova Southeastern men’s basketball team jumped one spot in the latest edition of the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) poll, cracking the Top-5 in the national rankings for the first time this season.

Following Wednesday’s 35-point rout of Florida Memorial, the Sharks now sit at 6-0 overall and a perfect 3-0 in the Sunshine State Conference. Despite not being at full strength in the early portion of the season, NSU has dominated on both ends of the floor, leading the nation with 28.5 forced turnovers per game to go along with 98.3 points per game, which ranks second in NCAA Division II.

For the second straight week, NSU is one of three SSC programs among the Top-25, joined by Barry, who rose 10 spots up to No. 12, and Embry-Riddle, who bumped up two places to No. 16.

Lubbock Christian (Texas) collected 14 of a possible 16 first-place votes to remain atop the poll, while second-ranked Northwest Missouri earned the remaining two first-place tallies. Mercyhurst (Pa.) stood pat at No. 3, followed by West Texas A&M, who replaced Queens (N.C.) at No. 4.
