#2 Sharks Finish Third at Lady Moc Classic

LAKELAND, Fla. – The second-ranked Nova Southeastern Sharks wrapped up their regular season with a second-place finish at the Lady Moc Classic 2.0 on Tuesday afternoon. NSU (T3/+21/287/299/299) moved up one spot in the leader-board in the final round, while Maia Samuelsson (T6/+1/71/72/74) placed in a tie for sixth-place.

How it Happened

  • Maia Samuelsson recorded an eagle and a birdie on the front-nine in her final round, before closing the tournament with eight consecutive pars. Samuelsson ended the tournament with a 74 in her final round. 
  • Jimena Marques (T14) started the final round with six straight pars, before adding birdies on seven, ten and 14, finishing the tournament with a 73 in the final round. 
  • Ellen Andersson tallied back-to-back birdies to finish the front-nine and recorded another pair of birdies, along with six pars, on the back-nine and ended the tournament with a top-20 finish. 
  • Hannah Mitterberger (T26) shot a bogey-free final round on Tuesday, totaling 17 pars, and one birdie, finishing with a 71 on Tuesday. 
  • Mei Chan (T57) and Haruka Muta (T57) both finished the tournament in a tie for 57th place.

#2 Sharks in Fourth at Lady Moc Classic

LAKELAND, Fla. – The second-ranked Nova Southeastern Sharks began play at the Lady Moc Classic 2.0 on Monday morning at the Club at Eaglebrooke golf course. NSU (4th/+10/287/299) is in fourth place after the first two rounds and Maia Samuelsson (T5/-1/71/72) is inside the top-five in the standings.

How it Happened

  • Maia Samuelsson began the tournament with a pair of birdies across the first four holes. Samuelsson followed with pars on 12-of-13 holes and added her third birdie in the round to finish the first round of action at 71. 
  • Samuelsson added another three birdies in her second round, while also tallying 13 pars, closing the day inside the top-5. 
  • Jimena Marques (T17) totaled three birdies in her first round and totaled 13 pars, finishing the round at 71. 
  • Marques followed that with a 76 in her second round, ending the day inside the top-20. 
  • Ellen Andersson got off to a strong start at the Lady Moc Classic 2.0, recording four birdies in her first round and added 12 pars, finishing the round with a 70. 
  • Andersson shot a 78 in her second round, ending the day tied for 25th in the standings. 
  • Haruka Muta (T42nd), Mei Chan (T52nd), and Hannah Mitterberger (T52nd) combined for nine birdies among the trio.

#2 Sharks Place Second at Buccaneer Invitational

MIAMI SHORES, Fla. – The second-ranked Nova Southeastern Women’s Golf (+25/287/287/303) team finished in second place at the Buccaneer Invitational on Tuesday afternoon. Mei Chan (+3/71/73/72) led the way for the Sharks, placing fifth in the tournament.

Mei Chan recorded a 72 on the final day of competition. Chan totaled two birdies on the afternoon and added 14 pars. 
Ellen Ramstedt (T13/+7/71/71/78) finished tied for 13th during the tournament, recording 12 pars and adding one birdie. 
Maia Samuelsson and Jimena Marques both finished the Buccaneer Invitational. Samuelsson tallied four birdies in the round, en route to a 74 on Tuesday afternoon. Marques finished the tournament with a 79. 
Ellen Andersson completed play with an +11 in the final round.

MIAMI SHORES, Fla. – The second-ranked Nova Southeastern Sharks Women’s Golf team began action at the Buccaneer Invitational on Monday morning. NSU currently sits in second-place (+6/287/287), while Ellen Ramstedt (T3/E/71/71), Jimena Marques (T6/+1/72/71), and Mei Chan (T8/+2/71/73) all sit inside the top-10 in the standings.

How it Happened

  • Ellen Ramstedt, beginning her first round on the 13th hole, parred each of the first two holes and followed with a birdie before closing making the turn onto the front-nine. Ramstedt parred 7-of-9 holes on the front-side, adding a birdie and a bogey, before ending the round with another pair of pars and a third birdie. 
  • Ramstedt tallied four more birdies in the second round, finishing the afternoon with a 71 in both rounds and inside the top-three. 
  • Jimena Marques ended Monday’s action inside the top-six, finishing the first round with a 72 and the second with a 71. 
  • In her first round, Marques totaled two birdies with 14 pars. Marques followed with a nearly bogey-free round, shooting an even-par with one birdie and 16 pars. 
  • Mei Chan continued to play well, following a solid performance at the Peggy Kirk Bell Invitational, and ranks inside the top-8 after shooting a 71 in the first and 73 in the second round. 
  • Chan totaled 16 pars in the first round of the day, going bogey-free on the back-nine with one birdie. Chan added 12 more pars during the second round, while recording a pair of birdies. 
  • Ellen Andersson and Maia Samuelsson both are tied for 25th, as Andersson (+6/76/72) jumped up 12 spots in the standings after recording three birdies and 12 pars in the second round. Samuelsson (+6/73/75) totaled three birdies in the first two rounds. 

What's Next
No. 2 Nova Southeastern will play the final round of the Buccaneer Invitational on Tuesday, March 19th. Tee-off is scheduled for 8 a.m.
