FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Bryan Hagopian leads the Nova Southeastern Sharks Track and Field team into the 2022 campaign. Last season, NSU finished sixth in the Peach Belt Conference Championship.

“We are excited about this season’s schedule and the opportunity to travel and compete against teams from across the country,” said Hagopian. “We have tremendous competition at these meets, that will push our student-athletes to be their best. Eleven NSU Track & Field Student-Athletes Among PBC Teams of Academic Distinction

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Recognizing the successes of its student-athletes both on the track and in the classroom, the Peach Belt Conference recently released its men’s and women’s track & field Teams of Academic Distinction, presented by Barnes & Noble College.

In all, Nova Southeastern was represented by a total of 11 track & field members, including six on the women’s team and five more on the men’s side.

“It makes me very proud that we not only have athletes on the team, but student-athletes,” said NSU head coach Bryan Hagopian. “They take their studies very seriously, and even despite the pandemic, they never lost focus of the main goal, which is to be successful in the classroom as well as on the field of play. Our team will be graduating a lot of young leaders that will be successful in life, while the returners will be great role models for the incoming class.”

To be eligible for the team, a student-athlete must 1) participate in at least half of his/her team’s events and be either a starter or significant contributor; 2) achieved a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) and 3) completed at least one full academic year at his or her current institution and has reached sophomore athletic eligibility.
