Sharks Close Out First Half of Schedule on Strong Note

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – NSU closed out their dual meet with Tampa at the NSU Aquatic Center on Saturday morning. The Women’s and Men’s teams closed out the fall schedule with strong outings throughout the entire event.

  • Emily Trieschmann placed first in the 100 IM with a time of 57.47.
  • With a time of 10:05.36, Hailey Williams took first in the 1000 Freestyle.
  • In the 100 Backstroke, Mollie Morfelt finished first with a time of 56.80.
  • Hannah Montgomery was victorious in the 100 Breaststroke with a time of 1:04.29.
  • With a time of 1:51.43, Rafaela Raurich won the 200 Freestyle.
  • Setting a new pool record with a time of 4:19.71, Trieschmann placed first in the 400 IM.
  • Raurich was victorious in her second event of the day, finishing first in the 100 Butterfly.
  • The group of Morfelt, Emilia Ronningdal, Raurich, and Maya Esparza placed first in the 200 Medley Relay with a time of 1:43.70.

  • In the 1000 Freestyle, Luca Alessandrini took first and set a pool record with a time of 9:08.25.
  • Marcel Snitko placed first in the 100 Backstroke with a time of 50.74.
  • With a time of 54.53, Inigo Marina won the 100 Breaststroke.
  • Snitko was victorious in his second event of the day, taking first in the 200 Freestyle.
  • In the 400 IM, Keith Peristeridis placed first with a time of 3:58.16.
  • Snitko, Marina, Umberto Marsic, and Mateus Ribeiro won the 200 Medley Relay with a time of 1:31.74.

What's Next

Sharks Battle Through Weather on Day One of Dual Meet Against Tampa

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Nova Southeastern opened day one of their dual meet with Tampa on Friday night at the NSU Aquatic Center. Despite the rainy conditions, the Sharks powered through, heading into day two of the meet on a strong note.

  • In the 500 Freestyle, Ilaria Murzilli claimed first with a time of 4:54.34.
  • Emily Trieschmann took first in the 200 IM with a time of 2:01.55.
  • In the 200 Fly, Rafaela Raurich took first with a time of 1:58.12, setting a new NSU school record.
  • With a time of 23.44, Maya Esparza took first in the 500 Freestyle.
  • Mollie Morfelt captured first in the 200 Back with a time of 2:05.23.
  • Raurich claimed her second first-place finish, this time in the 100 Freestyle, ending with a time of 51.57.
  • Estelle Bauer took first in the 200 Breaststroke with a time of 2:19.14.
  • Trieschmann, Solana Capalbo, Esparza, and Goncalves finished first in the 200 Freestyle Relay with a time of 1:34.63.

Sharks Close Out Fall Frenzy on Strong Note

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Nova Southeastern swim teams closed out competition at the Kellianne Nagy Fall Frenzy on a strong note. At the conclusion of the meet, the women’s team finished in second with 1209.5 points, and the men’s team finished in third with 1000.5 points.

(Women’s)

  • Emily Trieschmann was victorious in the 1650 Freestyle with a time of 16:24.97. With that time, Trieschmann set a new NSU Women’s Swim, Sunshine State Conference, and Fall Frenzy record. Behind Trieschmann, Estelle Bauer placed fourth with a time of 16:53.32.
  • Rafaela Raurich placed third in the 200 Butterfly with a time of 2:00.81. Behind Raurich in fourth was May Lowy, who finished with a time of 2:01.51.
  • The group of Emilia Ronningdal, Bauer, Raurich, and Trieschmann finished fourth in the 400 Freestyle Relay with a time of 3:24.53.

  How it Happened
(Men’s)

  • Luca Alessandrini took first in the 1650 Freestyle with a time of 15:33.07 while Keith Peristeridis finished fourth with a time of 15:56.66.
  • With a time of 1:48.22, Gustav Henriksen placed fourth in the 200 Backstroke.
  • After finishing with a time of 43.72, Marcel Snitko finished third in the 100 Freestyle.
  • Inigo Marina took first in the 200 Breaststroke with a Fall Frenzy record time of 1:55.23.
  • The group consisting of Snitko, Henriksen, Umberto Marsic, and Mateus Ribeiro placed second in the 400 Freestyle Relay with a time of 2:57.42.

Sharks Continue Competition at Fall Frenzy

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Sharks continued competition at the Kellianne Nagy Fall Frenzy, hosted by Queens. Through two days, the women’s team still sits in second with 824.5 points, and the men’s team still sits in third with 646.5 points.

  • Rafaela Raurich finished in third in the 100 Fly with a time of 54.99.
  • In the 400 Individual Medley, Emily Trieschmann captured first with a time of 4:15.80. With a time of 4:20.27, May Lowy took third.
  • In the 200 Freestyle, Emilia Ronningdal placed second with a time of 1:48.74.
  • The group of Trieschmann, Hailey Williams, Lowy, and Ronningdal finished in second in the 800 Freestyle Relay with a time of 7:20.86.

Sharks Open Strong at Fall Frenzy

  • With a time of 1:59.90, Emilia Ronningdal placed second in the 200 Individual Medley. May Lowy took fourth with a time of 2:01.88.
  • The group of Mollie Morfelt, Ronningdal, Rafaela Raurich, and Trieschmann finished second in the 400 Medley Relay with a time of 3:43.32.

Nova Southeastern Wraps Up Tri-Meet

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Nova Southeastern closed out their tri-meet against Florida International and Lynn on Saturday afternoon from the NSU Aquatic Center. The Sharks men’s team earned their first victory of the season, taking down the Fighting Knights 230-161. The women’s team defeated the Fighting Knights 286-105, but fell to the Panthers 229-162.

  • In the 100 Individual Medley, Marina took first with a time of 51.14.
  • Marina secured his second first place finish of the day, this time in the 100 Breaststroke with a time of 54.27.

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The Sharks returned to the pool on Friday afternoon, taking on Florida International and Lynn in day one of the tri-meet from the NSU Aquatic Center. Both the Men’s and Women’s Swimming teams opened up day one on a strong note.

  • Emily Trieschmann (4:56.36), Ilaria Murzilli (5:02.88), and Hailey Williams (5:05.35) took the top three spots in the 500 Freestyle.
  • In the 200 Butterfly, Rafaela Raurich took first with a time of 2:00.77.
  • Trieschmann captured her second victory of the day, placing first in the 200 Freestyle with a time of 1:51.29.

NSU Wraps Up The Shark Invitational

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The 12th-annual Shark Invitational wrapped up on Saturday afternoon from the NSU Aquatics Center. The Nova Southeastern Women’s team finished second with 709.5 points, while the Men’s team finished in third with 496.5 points.
