GULF SHORES, Ala. – The Nova Southeastern Softball team earned a sweep on Saturday afternoon at the Gulf Shores Invitational. Strong play from Brenna Lokeinsky led the Sharks to a top-10 victory over Rogers State to start the day. Nova Southeastern then closed out the day with an impressive win over West Florida.

BOT 1st – With one runner on base, Brenna Lokeinsky hit a moon shot to left field for her first home run of the season, giving NSU the early 2-0 lead.
BOT 2nd – The run barrage continued as Brianna Matthews batted in Lauren Margolis with a triple to left center.
BOT 2nd – Shortly after, Matthews would score the fourth run of the game for NSU off an error by Rogers State.
BOT 4th – Another error by RSU allowed the Sharks to bring their fifth run across home plate
TOP 7th – The Hillcats managed to put a late run on the board, but it wasn’t enough as the Sharks held onto the 5-1 victory over Rogers State.

TOP 1st – Aubrey Hutzler got the scoring started with an RBI single to left field, bringing in two runners for the Sharks. Shortly after, Tori Copeland joined the action, batting in Maliyah Lawson and Aubrey Hutzler to put NSU ahead 4-0.
BOT 1st – West Florida scored one run to cut their deficit to three runs.
TOP 2nd – RBIs from Brenna Lokeinsky and Gianna Russo tacked on two more runs for the Sharks.
BOT 2nd – The Argonauts answered with a run of their own to bring the score to 6-2.
BOT 6th – West Florida tacked on their third run of the game, cutting their deficit to 6-3.
TOP 7th – Copeland continued her stellar play, batting in her second run of the game, ultimately securing the 7-3 victory for NSU.
