FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – No. 22 Nova Southeastern took both games of Saturday’s doubleheader against Delta State, as the Sharks earned a pair of crucial region wins. NSU defeated Delta State 17-6 in the first half of the twin-billing, getting home runs from Justin Wachs, Roylan Quevedo, and Ty Torti, and ended the day with an 8-2 victory in which Wachs recorded four runs batted in along with a pair of extra base hits.

Game One
- The Sharks jumped on the scoreboard quickly, plating a pair of runs in the opening inning as Boris Pena single down the left field line to drive in Roylan Quevedo; later in the inning, Anthony Stinson worked a bases loaded walk as Justin Wachs came into score, giving NSU a 2-0 lead.
- Delta State cut Nova Southeastern’s lead in half with an RBI single in the top of the second inning.
- Quevedo hit his first home run of the season, as the Sharks extended their lead to 3-1 over DSU.
- Delta State scored five runs across the fourth and fifth innings, taking a 6-3 lead over NSU.
- With the Sharks needing a rally, following three shutout innings by Delta State, Head Coach Adrian Morales pressed all the right buttons in the bottom of the sixth inning as NSU plated ten-runs and broke the game open/
- Zeth Rodriguez, Wachs, and Pena all reached base either by a walk or hit-by-pitch, loading the bases for pinch hitter Gabriel Esquivel who promptly delievered a two-run single. Ty Torti, also pinch-hitting, followed with an RBI knock of his own, tying the game at 6-6.
- Jack Cue recorded the Sharks third consecutive RBI base-hit, driving in Joel Cabrera and reclaimed the lead for NSU.
- After batting around in the inning, Rodriguez worked his second walk of the frame, as Torti scored on the free-pass.
- Quevedo drove in a pair with a bases-loaded single, pushing the lead to 10-6.
- Wachs hit his second home run in as many games, capping the inning, and giving NSU a 13-6 advantage.
- Torti recorded his first home run of the season in the bottom of the seventh inning, extending the lead to 14-6.
- Quevedo added another two-run base-hit, bringing his RBI total to five on the game, before Wachs finished his perfect day at the plate with an RBI single, giving Nova Southeastern a 17-6 lead.

Game Two
- The Statesmen scored a pair of runs across the first two innings, taking a 2-0 lead early in the seven inning contest.
- Matthew Corpas got the Sharks on the board with an RBI single, driving in Jack Cue.
- Wachs continued swinging the bat well, coming up clutch with a two-run double as the Sharks took a 3-2 lead in the bottom of the second inning.
- Robby Medina extended the NSU advantage with an RBI single bringing in Rodriguez.
- Quevedo added an RBI single, bringing in Ryan Cainzos, pushing the lead to 5-2 for Nova Southeastern
- Wachs capped off his excellent day at the plate with a two-run triple, extending the NSU advantage to 7-2.
- Pena drove in Wachs with a sacrifice fly, giving Nova Southeastern an 8-2 lead.
- Pedro Acosta tossed the final 1.2 innings in relief of Christopher Perez, striking out four and closing out the 8-2 victory for NSU.
