GULF SHORES, Ala. – The Nova Southeastern Softball team opened their 2025 campaign at the Gulf Shores Invitational on Friday evening. Nova Southeastern dropped tonight’s matchup against Lubbock Christian 3-1 in extra innings. The Sharks first game against Valdosta State was canceled due to inclement weather.

BOT 3rd – The Sharks got on the board first thanks to an RBI by Cassidy Duskin, bringing Maliyah Lawson across home plate.
TOP 7th – Lubbock Christian continued to fight, scoring a late run to tie the game and send it to extra innings.
TOP 8th – The Chaps picked up where they left off, scoring two runs to go up 3-1.
BOT 8th – NSU attempted a late push but couldn’t overcome the deficit, ultimately dropping tonight’s season-opening matchup against Lubbock Christian 3-1.
NSU will take the field again tomorrow, Saturday, February 1st, and take on Rogers State at 1:45 p.m. and West Florida at 4:00 p.m.
