SARASOTA, Fla. – The Nova Southeastern Sharks Rowing team continued action at the FIRA Championships on Saturday at Nathan Benderson Park. NSU competed in three races on Saturday, winning the Frosh/Novice 4+ event.
Beginning competition at 8:10 a.m., the women’s DII 4+ boat featuring Mollie Ireland, Camila Rodriguez, Jordan Maruskin, Emma Hickey and Lauren Gray (coxswain) placed fourth with a time of 8:07.81.
In the women’s Frosh/Novice 8+ the boat featuring Ysabel Ribeiro, Chrysta Snair, V Robinson, Ella Riddle, Sejal Jain, Amanda Bogle, Julianna Becerra, Triumph Perry and Yasmine Chiadmi (coxswain) finished in third with a time of 7:36.56.
Nova Southeastern’s final event of the FIRA Championships, the Frosh/Novice 4+ crew of Mollie Ireland, Camila Rodriguez, Jordan Maruskin, Emma Hickey and Lauren Gray (coxswain) won the event with a time of 7:54.45. NSU won by seven seconds, defeating Tampa, Embry-Riddle, Central Florida, Rollins and Florida.
