#14 Sharks Earn No. 4 Seed in NCAA South Region Tournament

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. The #14 ranked Nova Southeastern Women’s basketball team returns to the NCAA Tournament, earning the fourth seed in the NCAA South Region on Sunday evening, where they will take on Gulf South Conference member and number five-seeded Lee University.

This will be the third meeting all time between both teams with the Lady Flames winning two out of the three matchups. Tip-off will occur at Valdosta State University, on Friday, March 14th, at 7:30 p.m.

NSU enters the NCAA Tournament with a 23-5, 18-2 SSC record and the first Sunshine State regular season title since the 2015-16 season. The Sharks are led by their tenacious team defense and several All-SSC members in Nicole Scales (All-SSC First Team), Morgan Kane (All-SSC First Team), Aubrey Stupp (All-SSC Third Team), India Shepherd (All-SSC Defensive Team), and not to mention SSC Coach of the Year LeAnn Freeland-Curry

Tampa, Eckerd, and Embry-Riddle were the other SSC programs to qualify for the NCAA Tournament, as the Spartans collected the No. 3 seed and will face No. 6 seed Embry-Riddle. The Tritons were tabbed as the seventh seed and will take on number two-seeded Union. 

No. 1 seed Valdosta and No. 8 seed Miles round out the remainder of the NCAA South Region.

The winner of NSU and Lee will advance to play the winner of Valdosta and Miles.
