How it Happened

First Half – The Sharks jumped out to early 6-0 lead after baskets from Kane, and Aubrey Stupp. The Tritons answered back with their own 6-0 run to tie the match at six a piece. With five seconds remaining in the quarter, Nicole Scales knocked down a contested jumper to tie the match at 10 heading into the second quarter. Back-to-back buckets from Terrell and Stupp put the Sharks up five two minutes into the second quarter. Both teams continued to trade baskets throughout the rest of the quarter as the Sharks claimed a 28-22 lead going into the halftime break.

Second Half – NSU came out hotter than fish grease, going on a 16-1 run capped off by layup from Kane. The Sharks suffocating defense continued to give the Tritons trouble as they held on to a 20-point lead heading into the final frame. Eckerd picked up the intensity, bringing the match to as close as 12 but it wasn’t enough to complete the comeback. Nova Southeastern would go on to take down Eckerd 70-54 for their 11th straight victory.
