AUBURNDALE, Fla. – The Nova Southeastern Sharks Baseball team snapped their losing streak on Monday afternoon, defeating the Tiffin Dragons 12-2 in a seven-inning contest at the RussMatt Invitational Tournament. Duncan Pastore led the way for NSU, going 3-4 and driving in three runs.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Bottom of the First – The Sharks opened the game by having their first three batters reach base. Ryan Cainzos led the rally with a leadoff single then Kristian Noriega followed with a walk, Duncan Pastore lined a single to center field, driving in Cainzos, giving the Sharks a 1-0 lead. Noriega scored on an RBI groundout from Daniel Irisarri, extending the NSU lead to 2-0.
Top of the Second – Tiffin responded with two runs in the inning, tying the game at 2-2.
Bottom of the Fourth – After reaching on a walk, Gregory Delgado later scored on a wild pitch, giving Nova Southeastern a 3-2 lead over Tiffin. Later in the inning, Pastore drove in another two runs, bringing in Noriega and MC Sagaro with an RBI double.
Bottom of the Fifth – Delgado and Sagaro each recorded back-to-back RBI single, extending the Sharks advantage to 10-2.
Bottom of the Sixth – Pastore’s third hit of the contest, a triple, put him in scoring position for Justin Wachs. Wachs singled to left field, driving in Pastore, putting NSU in front 11-2.
Bottom of the Seventh – Delgado sealed the Sharks victory, hitting a walk-off home run to lead off the seventh inning.

Nova Southeastern returns to the NSU Baseball Complex and hosts Palm Beach Atlantic in a Sunshine State Conference series beginning on March 3. First pitch is set for 6 p.m.
