Sar-Sar Signs Professional Contract

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Farid Sar-Sar, a member of the 2021 Sunshine State Conference Champion and Final Four NSU Sharks Soccer team, has joined the professional ranks, signing a contract with Inter Miami CF.

“The opportunity to sign my first professional contract, which allows me to play for one of the best teams in the United States, is undoubtedly a consequence of perseverance, discipline and work ethic,” said Sar-Sar. “I credit both the academic and athletic programs at Nova Southeastern, that continued my formation as a player and a person. I want to also highlight the capacity and quality of all the people involved in the development of the program. Thanks to everyone that helped me achieve my dream.”

A constant presence on the Sharks backline, Farid started all 34 matches during his two-year Nova Southeastern career. During the final four run in 2021, Farid logged nearly 2000 minutes of game action, recording seven points on three goals and one assist. Sar-Sar recorded a pair of goals in the Sharks 2021 playoff run, scoring against Tampa in the SSC Tournament Final and also against Coker in the NCAA South Region Tournament.

Matt Watts, the gaffer for the Sharks Men’s Soccer program, has elevated the club to new heights in his tenure, in large part because of talent like Farid helping NSU establish a new standard for success. “We are very proud when any of our former players sign professional contracts at the next level,” stated Watts. “Farid is truly deserving of this chance. During his time at NSU, he worked incredibly hard, asked for extra training sessions and had the mentality of a professional. We hope he can push on from here to have a long career in football. I think it’s a great representation of the program, as he becomes our sixth signed pro in as many years.”
