Gronborg, Sharks Earn Top Spot After Day One of World Golf Invitational

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – The No. 7 Nova Southeastern Women’s Golf team started off the second half of its season on Monday afternoon, completing two rounds at the World Golf Invitational. As a team, the Sharks (-5) are in first place and Olivia Gronborg leads individually with -5.

HOW IT HAPPENED

· Olivia Grønborg got off to a strong start, hitting birdie on two of the first four holes in round one. The freshman stayed consistent, ending round one three shots under par (-3). Gronborg’s momentum led into the second round, earning a -2 score while hitting par or birdie on the first 14 holes. At the end of day one, Gronborg’s -5 leads the way in the tournament.

· Ellen Ramstedt birdied three of the first four holes to start the day and finished round one with one shot under par. Ramstedt hit par or birdie on the first 12 holes in round two and

was on pace to shoot under par before a triple bogey in hole 17 put the junior at +1 for the second round. After the first two rounds, Ramstedt (E) is tied for 7th place.

· Ellen Andersson started off with a +2 on the front nine but fought back with -1 on the back nine, ending the first round with +1. In round two, Andersson had 5 birdies and ended the round -1. Andersson (+1) finished the first two rounds tied for 12th place.

· After shooting -1 in the first round, Jimena Marques shot +6 in round two with five bogeys and a double bogey. Marques (+5) sits in 23rd place after day one.

· Despite shooting +7 in the first round, Haruka Muta bounced back and shot -2 on the front nine of the second round. Muta (+7) finished the second round on par and sits tied for 29th at the conclusion of the first two rounds.
