
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – After another successful fall semester, both on the field and in the classroom, the Nova Southeastern athletic department and its student-athletes concluded the fall semester by setting a departmental record with a 3.51 overall grade point average (GPA).
NSU Athletics has now a departmental GPA of over 3.00 for 25 consecutive semesters and 84% of the student-athletes finished the semester with a GPA above 3.00. Additionally, the Sharks Baseball, Men’s Basketball and Men’s Swimming programs set new sport-records with their highest GPAs to date, while the Nova Southeastern Men’s Cross Country, Women’s Soccer and Women’s Swimming teams earned their highest fall semester team GPA.
Overall, 39 NSU student-athletes finished the fall term with a perfect grade-point average of 4.00, 106 were named to the Director’s List – GPA above 3.80 – setting a new program-high, and 206 were named as Scholar Athletes – GPA above 3.25 – another department record.
The Sharks Women’s Tennis team led the department, finishing the fall semester with an incredible 3.81 GPA, and the Nova Southeastern Men’s Soccer team recorded a GPA of 3.55, the highest of the men’s programs.
In addition, each of the NSU Athletics programs compiled GPAs over 3.30 and eight teams earned over 3.50.
