Sharks Drop SSC Contest to Panthers

FORT LAUDERDALE, FLA. – After a defensive battle for 86 minutes, the Panthers of Florida Tech were able to sneak one past Eduardo D’Avino on a penalty kick to take down the Nova Southeastern Sharks 1-0 on Saturday night in Sunshine State Conference action.

HOW IT HAPPENED

· In the 7th minute, Eduardo D’Avino came up with a big save to keep it knotted at 0.

· For the remainder of the first half, both defensives were on fire, shutting down the other’s offense.

· In the 53rd minute, the Sharks offense got a big opportunity with both Tommy Maguire and Theo Oherwall firing shots on goal, but both shots were knocked away.

· The Sharks offense saw another chance with Alberto Rentero and Christian Gorski getting shots off, but again, the Panthers’ goalkeeper poked both shots away.

· After being awarded a penalty kick in the 87th minute, the Panthers were able to get one past D’Avino and take the 1-0 lead late.

· Despite a last minute push, the Sharks offense was unable to get one into the back of the net, dropping this one to the Panthers 1-0.

UPCOMING Nova Southeastern travels to Tampa to take on the Spartans on Saturday, September 24th at 7pm.
