Sharks Tabbed Third in National Preseason Poll

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Following the best season in program history, in which the Nova Southeastern Men’s Soccer team won the Sunshine State Conference tournament for the first time, swept the NCAA South Region tournament and advanced to the Final Four at the NCAA National Championship tournament, NSU enters the 2022 campaign ranked third in the United States Soccer Coaches National Rankings.

The ranking is the highest that Sharks Soccer has had to open a season.

“We know that these preseason polls represent last season, but this is a good step forward for the men’s soccer program in general,” said Head Coach Matt Watts. “We want the program to be considered one of the best in the country. Now, our goal and challenge are to be here at the end of the season.”

The Sharks finished the 2021 campaign with a 17-3-3 record, including an undefeated stretch of 12-0-1 from Oct. 13 to Dec. 4, which sent NSU to the NCAA Final Four.
