Two Sharks Earn D2CCA All-Region Honors

LAKELAND, Fla. – The Division II Conference Commissioners Association announced the 2022 D2CCA All-Region Baseball first and second-teams earlier this afternoon. Duncan Pastore and Daniel Irisarri both represented Nova Southeastern with First-Team selections.  

Irisarri also earned First-Team All-Sunshine State Conference honors earlier this week, batted 0.346 on the regular season for the Sharks. The infielder finished second on the club in hits (62), while adding three home runs, 18 stolen bases and 39 runs batted in. Pastore, a Second-Team All-SSC representative, hit 0.360 on the campaign for the Sharks, leading NSU in hits (63), and RBI (55), while hitting four home runs and 13 doubles.  

As first-team All-Region selections, Irisarri and Pastore will now be placed on the national ballot for All-America consideration. The All-America teams are scheduled to be released on Wednesday, June 1. The complete D2CCA All-South Region teams can be found on the following page

The Division II Conference Commissioners Association encourages and promotes Division II athletics and high standards of sportsmanship as important elements of higher education. The CCA is a key communications link among the conferences as they discuss views, policies, and regulations that impact Division II intercollegiate athletics and work closely with the NCAA as a communications channel to NCAA Division II member colleges and universities. 

The Sharks begin NCAA South Region tournament play against Valdosta State on Thurs., May 19, from the UT Baseball Field in Tampa, Fla. First pitch is scheduled for 5 p.m.
