Sharks Begin Play at the NCAA Men’s Golf South Super Regional Thursday

TEE OFF
The No. 13 Nova Southeastern men’s golf team will begin its push for the program’s third national title when the 2022 NCAA Division II South Super Regional begins Thursday morning in Valdosta, Ga.

FORMAT
The 2022 edition of the tournament will once again set up as three rounds of stroke play over the course of three days, with the tee times reshuffled according to team score following the conclusion of each round. The Top-6 teams in the 20-team field, along with the Top-2 individuals on a non-advancing team, will qualify for the NCAA Division II National Championship on May 16-20 at TPC Michigan in Detroit, Mich.

The Sharks have hovered around the Top-10 of the Golfstat poll throughout the entire season and enter regional play currently No. 13 in Division II.

LAST TIME OUT
The Sharks fired a collective eight-under par in the final round to capture third at the 2022 Sunshine State Conference Championship on Apr. 12.

NSU used the same lineup at the SSC Championship that it’ll roll out at this week’s regional, as Mike Hay led the way with a tie for sixth on the leaderboard. Emanuel Olofsson earned a share of ninth, while Javier Calles tied for 14th. Jonny Cachon collected a tie for 26th, with Josep Serra placing tied for 36th.

TOURNAMENT HISTORY
The Sharks last claimed the South Region crown back in 2015 before eventually going on to win the program’s second National Championship that same year.
