Sharks Track Celebrates Senior Day

MIRAMAR, Fla. – Battling more than just the competition in a rain-soaked Tuesday afternoon, the Nova Southeastern Sharks Track team hosted their second meet of the season from the Ansin Sports Complex. Before the meet, NSU Athletics honored seniors Isabella Aristizabal, Ashley Holt, Cormac Gilmore, Cote Strike, Andrew Swanson and Aaron Weimer.

EVENTS: 1500, 800, and 3000 steeplechase

  • Eden Toal and Christina Adams placed first and second in the 1500, respectively. Toal completed the race in 4:53. 37, while Adams finished in 5:03.68. 

  • On the men’s side, Adrien Zambaux and Joseph Salerno both added top-six finishes for Nova Southeastern. Zambaux finished in 4:10.99, while Salerno came in sixth place with a time of 4:14.22. 

  • Tessa Grotzinger added a 14th place finish for the Sharks in the 800, completing the track in 2:41.35. 

  • Cote Strike placed ninth in the 800 with a time of 2:08.39. 

  • Ivanova Yanes earned a victory in the steeplechase for NSU, finishing in 11:18. Kamila Soja (3rd/11:48) and Maya Espinosa (4th/12:10) both placed in the top-five for Nova Southeastern. 



The Sharks will compete at the Hurricanes Invitational beginning on Friday, March 18, in Coral Gables, Fla.
