HOW IT HAPPENED:

TOP 1ST | The Spartans wasted no time getting on the board, taking advantage of a Corynn Miner two-RBI double to left center to take a 2-0 lead.

BOTTOM 3RD | The Sharks responded two innings later, tying things up, 2-2, thanks to a two-RBI double to left by Tia Williams, scoring Sam Sisco and Reece Martin.

TOP 4TH | Tampa was quick to regain the lead, 4-2, as Lexie Chevalier sent a two-run homer to left field.

TOP 5TH | With the bases loaded and two outs, the Spartans scored two on an RBI-single by Alexa Russo and made it 7-2 in favor of the visitors with a Chevalier RBI-single.

BOTTOM 7TH | With one out and pinch runner Ryleigh Langwell in scoring position at second and Mayte Lezcano at first, a throwing error by the Spartans allowed Langwell to score to bring the score to 7-3. The next batter, Alexis Smith, used a foul out sacrifice fly to score Lezcano, cutting Tampa’s lead to three runs at 7-4. That would be the end of the rally, however, as the third out came from a line out by Sisco.
