DADE CITY, Fla. – Competing in its second tournament in as many weeks, the 13th-ranked Nova Southeastern women’s golf team currently sits fifth among the nine-team field following the first two rounds of the Saint Leo Invitational in Dade City, Fla.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Sharks trimmed 13 shots off their opening-round score in round two to close Monday at 49-over par. Their second-round effort of (+18) 306 tied for the second-best round in the afternoon.
- Lynn currently leads by a sizable 22-stroke advantage at 13-over par.
- At 35-over par, Barry stands in second, while Florida Southern (+37) and Saint Leo (+42) make up third and fourth on the leaderboard.
- A bogey-free, one-under par effort on the back nine propelled Sofia Garcia Austt to a (+3) 75 in round one. Combined with her 78 in the afternoon, the native of Montevideo, Uruguay currently finds herself in sole possession of 14th.
- Brushing off her opening-round 82, Hanna Ahlander climbed into a tie for 19th thanks to her round two score of (+2) 74. The junior carded NSU’s lone eagle of the day, coming in the second round on the Par-5 11th.
- Playing out of the No. 5 spot in the lineup, freshman Ellen Ramstedt posted a solid round of 76 in the afternoon Monday. At 14-over par for the tournament, Ramstedt sits just outside the Top-20 in a tie for 21st.
- Both Nicola Fall and Ellen Andersson own a share of 24th at 16-over par.
STATS OF THE DAY:
- Ahlander’s eagle in round two was one of nine overall throughout the field Monday.
- NSU’s 91 pars through two rounds trails only Lynn, who has tallied 103 to this point.
- The Sharks’ Par-3 scoring average of 2.95 ranks second-best among the nine teams.
BEYOND THE SCORECARD:
- Lynn’s Helen Kreuzer (-5) holds a slim one-shot advantage over Tampa’s Kiira Riihijarvi atop the leaderboard.
- Loyola Chicago is the only team among the field not a member of the Sunshine State Conference.
- This marks NSU’s first appearance at the Saint Leo Invitational since October of 2018.
