NSU Men’s Swimming Earns the Win Over Lynn on Senior Day

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The NSU men’s swimming team celebrated its senior day with an solid 191-70 victory over the visiting Lynn Fighting Knights at the NSU Aquatic Center on Saturday morning. Prior to the meet, the Sharks celebrated their four seniors, Samuel Brettmann, Alec Dawson, Jake Gauvain and Jonathon Yanello.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
   
TOP INDIVIDUAL PERFORMERS:
 

  • Caleb Fell kicked things off individually for the Sharks, taking first place in the 1,000 freestyle in 9:48.82.
  • Aimable earned the win in the 100 backstroke with a time of 49.30. He also went on to win the 100 butterfly in 49.19.
  • Alessandro Xella grabbed first place in the 200 butterfly with his time of 1:52.33.
  • Mueller cut through the water to win the 50 freestyle in 20.80.
  • Celebrating his senior day, Dawson captured the win in the 100 freestyle, posting an NCAA B-Cut time of 45.00.
  • Baxter had himself a day as he posted two NCAA B-Cuts, the first in the 200 backstroke, with a winning time of 1:48.24, before posting a 1:50.45 in the 200 IM, also winning the event.
  • Williamsson topped the competition in the 200 breaststroke, winning in 2:01.27.
