At Last…NSU Men’s Golf to Tee Off 2021 Season on Feb. 22

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The return is near. Absent from competition for nearly 11 months, the Nova Southeastern men’s golf team will officially tee it up in 2021, announced Tuesday morning. As a part of a five-tournament regular season, the Sharks will open the spring on Feb. 22 in Dade City, Fla. at the Saint Leo Invitational.

A youthful bunch a year ago, the Sharks will enter this season now as one of the more experienced groups in the Sunshine State Conference with nine players back from 2020, including senior Tomas Millet, whose 26 career tournament appearances ranks tops on the team.

“It feels great to get back out here and get the season going,” said NSU head coach Joey Marino. “I know the guys are ready to compete again and show people what we can do.”

Millet and the Sharks will gladly welcome the season at the aforementioned Saint Leo Invitational, the site of the Spaniard’s first career win last February.

Heading into the month of March, NSU will travel to all-familiar PGA National for the Division I-laden Palm Beach Intercollegiate. The following week, the Sharks will then play in Florida Southern’s Matlock Collegiate Classic on Mar. 8-9 before competing at the three-day Space Coast Collegiate Championship, hosted by Florida Tech from Mar. 21-23.

NSU will round out the regular season at Barry’s Battle at the Shores on Apr. 5-6, paving the way for the SSC Championship, held this year at the Bayou Country Club in Largo, Fla. from Apr. 19-20.

Streamsong Golf Resort will be the home of the 2021 NCAA South Super Regional, with college golf’s final tournament of the year, the NCAA Division II National Championship, slated for May 17-21 at PGA National.
