FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The Nova Southeastern volleyball team has announced its newest addition to the 2021 team, Maddy Bremer, a 6-0 junior transfer from Northern Colorado. Joining the team in the spring, the middle blocker will solidify the Sharks at the net in preparation for the 2021 season.
“The coaching staff and I are so excited to welcome Maddy to the Shark Volleyball family,” said head coach Brian Rosen. “She understands the commitment, work ethic, and positive team culture it takes to be a championship level team. She also brings a wealth of experience from her two years playing against some of the best teams in the country while at a strong DI program on the west coast. Her previous coaches were so positive about what she will add to our culture and the positive impact she will have on the people around her. We are also grateful that she will be able to join us this spring to start training right away, learn our systems, and be ready to compete next fall. It was evident from our first conversation that Maddy would be a great fit here at NSU as a student and athlete.”
As a sophomore at UNC, Bremer saw action in 96 sets of 132 sets played, notching 111 kills and 65 blocks during the season helping the team to both 2019 Big Sky regular season and tournament Championship titles. Off the court, she was named to the Academic All-Big Sky list. As a freshman, Bremer played in 28 sets and accumulated 43 kills and 13 blocks.
“I’m excited to go to NSU because of the all year-round sun and ocean but also because the team really does sound like a family that has a goal of winning and I cannot wait to be a part of that,” explained Bremer. “I’m also excited to be a part of the Sport and Recreation Management program so I can have the opportunity to work with athletes everyday and make their sports careers better in any way that I can. NSU has great networking opportunities and I will be taking full advantage of it.”
