The Davie Historical Society Committee and the Davie School Foundation will present the 11th Annual Old Davie Christmas at the Old Davie School Historical Museum located at6650 Griffin Road, Davie, FL, on Sunday, December 2, 2012, at 12 p.m.
In the early days of Davie, Santa would arrive in different ways each year and pass out goodies to all the children of the community and everyone would sing carols and have a good time together.
The community is invited to join us for this special event! Each child will receive a free goodie bag that includes tickets for a pony ride, a hay ride, and a tasty lunch. There will be old-fashioned games, a petting zoo and so much more!
This special holiday celebration is sponsored by local citizens and businesses, and the Davie Historical Society Committee, the Board of Trustees of the Davie School Foundation and the staff encourages you and your families to join us for this special event.

Hang up the mistletoe and trim up the tree! Santa is on his way with lots of goodies for children at the Old Davie School Historical Museum, located at 6650 Griffin Road. In addition, the Davie Area Land Trust will present children’s author, Harvey E. Oyer III, to host a storytelling session. This fun-filled day is made possible by the efforts of the Davie Historical Society and the Davie School Foundation.

Davie Historical Society Hosts Tasty Event
The Davie Historical Society will host the 13th Annual Generations of Taste from 6-8 p.m., on Saturday, April 16, 2011, at the Old Davie School Historical Museum located at 6650 Griffin Road.
Cooks are invited to submit their favorite homemade dish from any of the following categories: drinks, appetizers, soups, salads, breads, vegetables, main dishes, desserts, country cookin’, and kid’s cookin’.
Come and taste unlimited samplings and vote for your favorite dish. Prizes will be awarded at the end of the evening.
The cost is $10 for adults and $4 for children ages 5 to 11. All proceeds benefit the Old Davie School Historical Museum. For more information, please call the museum office at 954-797-1044.

September 13, 2010, Davie, Florida:The Old Davie School Historical Museum plans to take part in Pinwheels for Peace, an international art and literacy project, started in 2005 by two art teachers, Ann Ayers and Ellen McMillan, of Coconut Creek, Florida. The project is a way for students to express their feelings about what’s going on in the world and in their lives. In the first year, on September 21, 2005, groups in over 1,325 locations throughout the world were spinning approximately 500,000 pinwheels. Last year, it was estimated that, there were over3 million pinwheels spinning all over the world. The Old Davie School Historical Museum will be holding its 8th Annual Juried Art Exhibit from June 18, through July 31, 2010. An Opening reception will be held on Friday, June 18, from 7 to 9 p.m. Works in the exhibit include oil, watercolor, pastel, acrylic, mixed media, photography, collage, and sculpture. A Jurist will select the winning pieces and cash prizes will be awarded.

The Davie Historical Museum is hosting the Eleventh Annual Pioneer Dinner on May 15, 2010. The event will start at 6 p.m., with tours of the school and drinks. A fried chicken dinner, with all sorts of homemade fixings, will begin at 6:30 p.m., followed by an assortment of home baked cakes and pies.
This year, the Davie Historical Society has chosen to honor the Scott, Lewis, and Tindall families. After dinner, a video presentation will be shown honoring the selected families.
Tickets are $10 for adults and $4 for children.
