If you are referring to conversion to political beliefs or party affiliation, Jews are not a unique group using this practice. If, however, you are referring to conversion to Judaism, it is MUCH more difficult to convert to Judaism than to Christianity. Since I have done both in my lifetime and know many from both sides who have gone through the experience, I know this to be true. It is required in Judaism to turn away someone who is interested in Judaism and a potential convert three times before acknowledging their desire - taken from the Old Testament.
